Hollow Block H Series
 |
H600R (Regular)
The block is 600 × 200 × 200; it has a hollow core and weighs only 13kg. A wall built using H600R BenexBlock™ achieves a four hour structural fire rating, is water proof, and achieves an exceptional acoustic (RW) value and thermal (R) value.
Joists, skirtings, door jambs and the like can be screwed directly to the H600R BenexBlock™.
A BenexBlock™ wall can be used structurally and in modules of up to 12m x 9m without control joints required.
Composite Benex walls constructed in accordance with the BenexBlock™ approved standard details will meet all the criteria of alternative walling materials at lower cost.
The block has a superior finish when looking to achieve an architectural fact to the exterior of a building and a flush face internally such as a warehouse or you want an architectural face to one side of a composite wall such as an apartment party wall or feature wall. H600R is ideal for texture paint and rendered applications.
It is important that all walls are built in accordance with the BenexBlock™ approved standard details.

H600R (Core Filling)
While all the testing that has resulted in the outstanding fire rating, thermal, acoustic and waterproof properties of BenexBlock™ walls has been done on non-core filled walls, it is easy and practical to reinforce the walls and core fill them.
Core filled BenexBlock™ walls are ideal for retaining walls in landscaping applications.
It is also possible to fill the walls selectively to provide concealed columns and beams, thereby solving many structural challenges.
Clever engineering will enable BenexBlock™ walls to be used in multi-storey construction as the primary floor can eliminate the need for steel reinforced columns, at the same time reducing the trades on site.

H600R (Reinforced)
A BenexBlock™ built in accordance with the BenexBlock™ approved standard details performs very differently from more traditional forms of masonry. Because the blocks are laid with an adhesive, once cured they act more like a monolithic concrete wall – you can cut openings and form penetrations in BenexBlock™ walls that are not possible in other masonry walls. Consequently, the need for reinforcing BenexBlock™ walls is reduced significantly.

H600I (100mm Infills)
Because the Benex Blocks are 600mm long and 200mm wide it is necessary to use an infill block on 90 degree corners. These infill blocks are easily installed and complete the wall structure.
The BenexBlock™ walls were not originally intended as an architectural finish, but this have been achieved by using off white cement and bevels on the blocks combined within the steel mould for the block, forming a finish that is very pleasing aesthetically. To achieve an architectural finish in precast would cost well over $300/m². |
